Subject: Happy Friday but UnHappy Readiness; Bah Humbug

Medical Officers please be apprised that 12/31/09 is not only New Year’s Eve it is also the Readiness due date.

So please give a Holiday present to the Corps and insure that you are ready, and that the Medical Category Readiness stats on 12/31 do not constitute a lump of coal in a stocking.

Agree with it or not, like it or not, Readiness is the marker by which the Corps is measured to define that we are a mobile and deployable uniformed service ready to protect and serve the Nation.

Readiness is also a crucial hurdle for many of our officers expecting to be considered for promotion.

The Medical Category Readiness Status as of 3-Dec-2009:   71.35%

The Medical Category Readiness Status as of 30-Sep-2009:   88.88%

The Medical Category Readiness Status as of 30-Jun-2009:   87.27%

The Medical Category Readiness Status as of 31-Mar-2009:   87.57%

Give attention to the easy items like recording you seasonal flu shot, PPD, and H1N1 if it was available to you!
